Alexis Beale, founder of Rosemount Law, is a tenacious and driven litigator with over ten years of experience in corporate and commercial litigation. Recognized for her expertise, Alexis has been named a Benchmark Litigation Future Star and has been included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch™ for corporate and commercial litigation. She is also featured on the ReferToHer™ list for commercial litigation—a peer-reviewed directory of experienced female lawyers who are entrusted by their peers.

Alexis frequently appears at the Commercial List and has advocated before all levels of court and before the Ontario Securities Commission.

She honed her skills in the litigation department of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, before founding Rosemount. Alexis holds degrees from the University of Toronto and the University of Cambridge, where she distinguished herself as a Commonwealth Trust Scholar.

Recently obtained judgment for a major music publisher on an application to recognize and enforce a U.S. judgment of approximately US$1.2 billion.
Obtained and maintained a Mareva freezing injunction in support of the enforcement of a foreign copyright judgment.
Negotiated a settlement of an estate dispute involving the redemption of shares in a closely held private corporation.
Ontario counsel to U.S. counsel in a U.S. securities class action, enforcing letters rogatory to compel the examination of an Ontario-resident witness.
Trial counsel to a roofing contractor in a Construction Act holdback claim tried under the simplified procedure.
Counsel to individual and corporate defendants in Commercial List lender and receivership litigation, including the negotiation of a Pierringer settlement.

25162116 Ontario Ltd. (Numbrs) v. Abledocs Inc., 2023 ONCA 727 — Successfully opposed the appellant's lawyers' motion to get off the record until the respondent's motion to lift the stay and obtain security for costs was decided.
2516216 Ontario Ltd. o/a NUMBRS v. AbleDocs Inc., 2023 ONSC 4713 — Obtained judgment on an application for unpaid professional fees. The court refused to convert the application into an action and rejected the limitations defence.
Black v. Mandeville Private Client Inc., 2023 ONSC 465 — Acted for the investment firm on competing injunction motions over a departing advisor. The advisor's motion was dismissed and the firm's motion restraining client solicitation was granted.
Collingwood Aviation Partners v. Winterland Airfield, 2021 ONSC 6907 — Acted for the successful applicant, which was awarded costs of more than $310,000 after winning on the merits (2021 ONSC 3023).
Tribute (Cogan) Limited v. Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, 2021 ONSC 4746 — Acted for the plaintiff land developers in successfully resisting a municipality's motion to strike parts of their bad-faith claim.
Brunt v. Economical Mutual Insurance Company, 2021 ONSC 4026 — Acted for Economical Mutual Insurance Company in obtaining summary judgment dismissing a claim to demutualization benefits.
Foster v. The City of Oshawa, 2020 ONSC 681 (Div. Ct.) — Acted for the City of Oshawa in obtaining dismissal, for delay, of an application for judicial review of a Council resolution.
Good v. Toronto (Police Services Board), 2016 ONCA 250 — Acted for the intervenor Canadian Civil Liberties Association at the Court of Appeal for Ontario on certifying class actions arising from the 2010 Toronto G20 summit detentions.
